Hello, my dear readers! Today is International Coffee Day, and if you know me, you know how much I love and enjoy it!
Today, I was considering what to write about coffee. There are numerous possibilities, such as a first date, a pleasant day at a coffee shop, chatting with friends, finding tranquility in a cup, or having coffee as a companion during late-night work or homework. However, after some thought, I've decided to share my first experience or early memories of having a cup of coffee.
Coffee—what a concept. I think it's more than just a beverage; it unites people, whether friends or family, and fosters meaningful conversations over a cup. One of my earliest memories involving coffee dates back to when I was around 5 years old. Although I can't recall the exact date or day, I distinctly remember enjoying coffee with my grandmother and cousins. It felt special because it wasn't a daily occurrence; my Dad wasn't keen on me drinking coffee at such a young age, so it became more of a treat when it happened.
I recall it made me feel significant; it was a cherished moment shared with my cousins and family. The drink was delightful to us, essentially hot milk, coffee, and undoubtedly a lot of sugar. I believe I can still savor the taste if I concentrate on it. We would gather around the table, converse, laugh, and simply relish the moment.
Following my childhood, my next significant memory involving coffee was likely at the age of 15. Since then, I can't imagine my life without it. Naturally, my preferences have evolved over time. In my younger years, I often ordered a Mocha Frappuccino with whipped cream from Starbucks, which I know was loaded with sugar. Another choice was a chai latte (not technically coffee, but it still contains some caffeine). As I've matured, I now prefer espresso or a natural latte with lactose-free milk, served hot, and occasionally enjoy a regular American coffee.
I have also shifted my preferences for buying coffee. Starbucks is no longer my top choice; instead, I prefer to visit local coffee shops. I believe these places reflect the creativity of their owners, offering a welcoming atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy a family-friendly environment.
I cherish the memories of visiting coffee places with my best friends, where we would chat, laugh, seek advice, or just gossip. Additionally, coffee shops are a personal retreat for me; I enjoy going alone, bringing a book, a laptop, or a notebook, to spend time with myself, unwind, and savor the peace.
Tell me, what are your memories of coffee?
