After returning home, Son found herself deeply affected by everything that had happened in Cancun. Although her main goal upon returning was to talk to her mom and seek advice, the reality was that the words wouldn't come out. Sadness overwhelmed her, and her eyes filled with tears every time she thought about Rodrigo and the way she had let down her best friend, Erika. She felt guilty for having gone against her own principles, even if it had all been "just a kiss," because deep down she knew she wanted something more with Rodrigo, which bothered her and made her question herself.

Son knew she had to make an important decision: follow the dictates of her heart and get carried away by her feelings, or respect the relationship between Lizzy and Rodrigo, and especially, preserve her friendship with Erika. The dilemma kept her in constant conflict, unable to find a clear answer.

As the days passed, the return to school approached. It was their senior year, and graduation was just around the corner, a moment Son had always imagined sharing with Erika. However, the possibility of this not happening was becoming more and more real. Erika had not reached out to Son, and for her part, Son hadn't tried to communicate either. As for Rodrigo, he insisted on contacting her, sending messages to know how she was, if she had gotten home okay, and to try to explain everything that happened. Despite Rodrigo's attempts, Son didn't feel ready to respond.

One afternoon, Son's mom knocked on her bedroom door. Upon inviting her in, Son burst into tears and told her in detail everything that had occurred in Cancun: from how she met Rodrigo, the party, the trip, the kiss, and above all, the fact that Rodrigo was Lizzy's boyfriend, the sister of Erika, her best friend. Her mother, understandingly, told her she understood how she felt, but that it was time to learn to face the consequences of her actions. She recommended that she seek out Erika and also talk to Rodrigo, but beyond that, she advised her that she needed to think about what she really wanted for her life, since it was just beginning, and she had many experiences left to live.

After receiving the hug and words of support from her mom, Son decided to go to her favorite coffee shop to reflect and make a decision on how to act regarding everything that had happened.
